Calvert 22 Foundation’s Nonna Materkova to join Creative Industries Federation’s International Council

Flint is delighted to announce that Nonna Materkova, Founder and Director of the Calvert 22 Foundation, has joined the Creative Industries Federation’s International Council.

The Creative Industries Federation unites the UK’s diverse arts and creative industries to secure the policies and funding needed to further Britain’s global success as a cultural powerhouse. The International Council was established to bring a broader international perspective to the Federation’s work and share examples of best practice and innovation from around the world.

In 2009 Nonna founded Calvert 22 Foundation, the UK’s first not-for-profit institution dedicated to supporting the contemporary culture and creativity of the New East: Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Russia and Central Asia.  Nonna oversees all of the foundation’s activities including the Calvert 22 Space in Shoreditch, the award-winning online magazine The Calvert Journal and the Calvert Forum focused on research and policy for the creative industries of the New East. Organised in collaboration with regional governments, the Forum was launched in St Petersburg (2013), followed by editions in Voronezh (2014), Kazan (2015) and Siberia (November 2017).

Nonna previously led the Department of Major Investment Projects within the Finance Committee of St Petersburg. She worked on the first eurobond issuance in the City of St Petersburg and EBRD Financial Credibility Programme and with numerous other international financial institutions.

Flint has been communications consultant to Calvert 22 Foundation since 2015.
