Case Study
Mamut Art Project

In early 2016, Flint Istanbul was engaged by Mamut Art Project (MAP), a unique art event hosted annually in Istanbul’s KüçükÇiftlik Park celebrating the best emerging artistic talent selected from across the Turkish region through a dynamic multi-disciplinary arts programme.

Flint was tasked with raising the profile of the 5th edition of the fair within the international media, enhancing brand awareness amongst a range of target audiences and visitor demographics and driving ticket sales.

Working closely with MAP’s founding director Seren Kohen and principal sponsor Akkök Holding, Flint Istanbul directed a coordinated international media relations campaign that was delivered with support from Flint’s global network of international offices and regional specialist associates.

16 individual items of international press coverage were secured, including 3 national newspaper features, delivering a combined reach of over 253,000 Opportunities To View. Coverage highlights include a dedicated interview feature in The Art Newspaper exploring Seren Kohen’s founding vision for the event and an event review feature in Art Asia Pacific that showcased the highlights of the 2016 edition and pointed to the increasingly influential role that the fair holds within the Turkish art scene. The international reach of the press coverage ranged from Artnet, Blouin Art InfoKunst und Auktionen, Harpers Bazaar Arabia, Aujourd’hui la Turquie and Daily Sabah.

The 5th edition of Mamut Art Project attracted over 20,000 visitors, delivering a +200% YTD increase in ticket sales. Further, 50% of the exhibited artworks sold during the event, representing a +65% YTD increase in artist sales.
