Case Study
Thomas Williams Fine Art

In 2013 Flint worked with leading Bond Street gallery Thomas Williams Fine Art on a three month campaign to promote an exhibition of paintings from the San Francisco Bay Area School, featuring work by Californian artists from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.  It was the first ever exhibition of Bay Area School artists to be shown outside the US, and coincided with a new book on the subject, published by Lund Humphries.

Working in close collaboration with the gallery and publisher, Flint secured extensive coverage for both the exhibition and book, with five national newspaper articles including a 4* review in The Sunday Telegraph and a Critics’ Choice feature in the Financial Times.  Articles were generated in luxury monthly magazines including Vanity Fair and The World of Interiors, as well as a range of art publications such as Art Quarterly and Apollo with profile interviews for Thomas Williams secured in Artists and Illustrators and Art of England.

Print coverage was supplemented by a broad spread of articles on online platforms including Huffington Post, TimeOut and Culture24, resulting in strong book sales and record visitor footfall at the gallery over the course of the exhibition.

“Flint’s campaign for our Bay Area School project has raised the gallery’s profile enormously, with our publication and exhibition gaining press coverage from the UK’s leading magazines and newspapers. Flint’s dedication and support in promoting the project resulted in Thomas Williams Gallery gaining a record number of visitors. We are extremely grateful for Flint’s work and cannot recommend them highly enough.”
